This year’s conference theme is drawn from the work of 1970’s Wisconsin geographer Yi-Fu Tuan, whose visits to the southwestern United States sparked his imagination and generated new philosophical thinking about humans’ relationships with and effects on physical and emotional space. Tuan posits that humans develop a sense of identity, history, and community through the landscapes we live in and that we create a sense of home and belonging in relationship with our surroundings. We invite you to explore this theme in relation to your writing center as a community of growth, identity, and connection.
Keynote Speaker: We are honored to feature Michele Eodice as this year’s keynote speaker. Her new co-authored book in January 2007 is The Everyday Writing Center.
