CFP: NEWCA Conference 2008:
Oct 4th, 2007 | By IWCA Web Editor | Category: ArchivesThe Northeast Writing Centers Association (NEWCA) is currently seeking proposals for individual or panel presentations for their 2008 annual conference which will be held at the University of Vermont, Burlington, on April 12 and 13. The theme of the conference is CTRL/ALT/DEL, the combination of computer keystrokes used to restart an operating system. As such, the term “Control-Alt-Delete†evokes not only the influence of technology but also themes of regeneration and persistence—recurring themes for writing center administrators, peer tutors, and student writers. Kicking off this year’s conference will be a collaborative keynote delivered by Dr. Anne Ellen Geller, Dr. Michele Eodice, Dr. Frankie Condon, Dr. Meg Carroll, and Dr. Elizabeth Boquet, the celebrated authors of The Everyday Writing Center: A Community of Practice.
