Writing Across the Curriculum Institute for Community Colleges, June 22-24, 2011
May 1st, 2011 | By IWCA Web Editor | Category: ArchivesMCC-Longview will host a Writing Across the Curriculum Institute for Community Colleges, June 22-24, 2011, on the Longview campus in Lee’s Summit, a suburb in the Kansas City metro area.
The institute offers a focused and interactive opportunity for WAC directors, discipline faculty, and college administrators to learn practical strategies for starting and sustaining a WAC program in a community college or two-year college setting.
The institute offers two threads, one for those seeking to design or launch a WAC program and another for those who have established a program and want to keep it energized and plan for its continued growth.
This experience includes a mix of plenary, workshop, panel, and discussion sessions on these topics:
- program models and design
- determining program features
- troubleshooting existing or potential challenges
- designing general education writing assessment
- ensuring effective engagement of faculty
