Posted Rate of Pay: $12.13 – $13.24 per hour; DOE

Duties and Responsibilities
Under administrative supervision, coordinates learning center and academic success programs that support college and university retention goals.  Develops and schedules Student Success Center (SSC) work plans and materials in accordance with specifications, objectives and funding limitations.  Coordinates (hire, train, supervise) writing tutors for the Polytechnic Student Success Centers – Writing Center.  Provides some writing support to students (undergraduate and graduate students).  In collaboration with the SSC Director assists in the coordination of academic success and retention programs.  Makes presentations on academic and/or student success to a wide variety of groups/ individuals.  Assists with department-wide responsibilities in support of the SSC and serves as unit liaison to other University Academic Success Program units as well as other campus and university-wide units and programs as assigned.  Maintains electronic tracking and record keeping.  Assists with developing and facilitating workshops (as pertains to the areas of responsibility), meetings or conferences offered by the Polytechnic SSC; coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Days and Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM, to include evenings and weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in Rhetoric/Composition, English, Education or related field.

Previous experience working with: a learning center and/or tutoring program; program development, coordination, and implementation, especially in the areas academic success and student engagement and retention; tutoring/learning center programs and services.

Evidence of effective presentation and public speaking skills.

Experience: supervising student staff; working with diverse students in a college/university setting;  establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students;  teaching undergraduate and/ or graduate level courses; with technology in teaching, providing tutoring, or other academic support services; using databases.

Demonstrated knowledge of: Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook).

Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills
