You are invited to join the Ivy League!  The University of Pennsylvania seeks an Editor for its renowned Graduate School of Education (GSE).  Editor works one-on-one with Penn GSE faculty to help them polish their scholarly writing (including grant applications, articles and books), translate their work for a broader audience, and increase their writing productivity; writes and ghostwrites reports, op-eds and policy briefs; and assists the Communications Department with other projects as needed.

Essential Qualifications

A strong background in academic editing, especially in the social sciences (5 years minimum).

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to quickly and accurately understand academic social science writing and to express academic ideas in plain English.

Ability to work collaboratively, and to use tact and diplomacy to build relationships with Ivy League faculty.

Bachelors degree.

Preferred qualifications

Experience working in a university writing center.

Experience in journalism or a think tank.
