Proposals are now being accepted for the 24th Annual Mid-Atlantic Writing Centers Association (MAWCA) conference, Writing Centers in 3D: New Dimensions in Theory, Practice, and Research, hosted by the Cal U Writing Center at California University of Pennsylvania (California, PA) on April 5&6, 2013.
3D movies enhance viewers’ experiences by adding depth to the screen’s width and height to produce a three-dimensional presentation that audiences find unexpected, invigorating, and pleasurable. Writing centers and those who inhabit them—student writers, tutors, and administrators—can also benefit from new perspectives generated when we examine our relationships with three dimensions of our work: theory, practice, and research.
We invite writing tutors, administrators, educators, and researchers from universities, colleges, and high schools to put on their 3D glasses and submit proposals on the conference theme—or other dimensions of writing center work—that promise to be unexpected, invigorating, and pleasurable. Presentation formats include individual talks, panels, roundtables, workshops, posters, and multi-media installations. We also welcome proposals for SIGS. Submission deadline for proposals is 11:59 p.m. on December 18, 2012.
For conference information, please visit the 2013 MAWCA conference website.
