The Writing Center at Pittsburg State University is a thriving community of tenured and full-time non-tenure track faculty, graduate assistants, and graduate and undergraduate student employees serving a campus of about 5000 undergraduates and 2000 graduate students. In addition to face-to-face and online consulting by appointment, we offer a graduate writing studio, workshops for students and faculty, a writing group for faculty and staff, and a variety of writing-themed special events. We have an ongoing, in-house research project which is sending its second group of undergraduate presenters to a conference (ECWCA in March), and we are committed to providing excellent service to our clients and outstanding support to our employees. The English Department has three positions of the type described in the ad, so the person in this position would join a peer group of enthusiastic and welcoming people.
In addition to classroom teaching, the full-time non-tenure track positions include consulting and some supervisory responsibilities in the Writing Center.
