Saint Anselm College’s Academic Resource Center is seeking an Assistant Director to assist in the day-to-day management of the Academic Resource Center (ARC) and coordinate the ARC Peer Tutoring and Writing Assistance Programs of the ARC. The position will be undergoing a transition and will be reevaluated at the end of the academic year, May 2015.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities include:
Coordinating the Peer Tutoring and Writing Assistance Programs including:
§ Selecting, hiring, and training approx. 60 peer tutors and writing assistants.
§ Scheduling peer tutors and writing assistants.
§ Keeping records on peer tutor and writing assistant use.
§ Developing ways to improve the program via educational technology.
§ Assessing the impact of the program on student learning and academic achievement
Assist the Director of the ARC in:
§ Providing academic accommodations to students with documented disabilities
§ Proctoring exams
§ Developing and presenting targeted academic workshops for students
Knowledge and experience in assisting student learning expected. Proven ability to deal effectively with students, faculty, and administrative personnel, as well as support the Catholic Benedictine mission of this liberal arts college.
A Master’s degree and three years of teaching or learning / tutorial center experience at the college level required.
Successful candidates will be able to assist the college to further its strategic goals for institution-wide diversity and inclusiveness.
