The Project & Curriculum Coordinator for Workshops will oversee one of the University Center for Writing-based Learning’s five main initiatives. The Workshops Coordinator will collaborate with DePaul instructors to design customized, interactive writing- and ePortfolio-based workshops and then train and supervise a team of UCWbL graduate assistants and peer writing tutors to facilitate the workshops. This is a part-time position of 20 hours/week.
Responsibilities & Duties
Oversee 1-2 UCWbL graduate assistants and 10-20 peer writing tutors to revise, research, develop, and facilitate workshop materials.
Manage the day-to-day logistic operations of the UCWbL’s Workshops initiative, including scheduling in-class Workshops, following up on past workshops, and completing monthly reports and other documentation.
Consult with DePaul instructors and other requesters to plan and develop customized writing- and ePortfolio-based workshops.
Collaborate with the UCWbL directors to perform at least one annual assessment of the quality and effectiveness of the workshops initiative as it relates to one or more UCWbL learning outcome.
Develop and maintain an UCWbL Professional Development ePortfolio.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Prior peer writing tutor or teaching experience.
1-2 Graduate assistants and 10-20 peer writing tutors.
Other Skills & Abilities Reqd
Experience with ePortfolios and Digication.
Knowledge of scholarship on teaching and learning concerning active learning.
Light office work and working on computers for extended periods of time.
