International Writing Centers Week
International Writing Centers Week is an opportunity for people who work in writing centers to celebrate writing and become more aware of the important role of their individual campus/community writing centers. Writingcenters.org wants to hear from IWCA members about their plans for IWCW. Send your photos, as well, to be featured in the photo gallery (please include a caption in the text of the e-mail when you send photos). E-mail the Web Editor at email@example.com .
Members are also encouraged to send descriptions of their IWCW events to Wcenter, the listserv for Writing Center professionals. Learn how to subscribe to Wcenter at http://writingcenters.org/resources/starting-a-writing-cente/#Mail .
HISTORY OF IWCW
The International Writing Centers Association, in response to a call from its membership, created “International Writing Centers Week” in 2006. The membership committee included Pam Childers, Michele Eodice, Clint Gardner (Chair), Gayla Keesee, Mary Arnold Schwartz, and Katherine Theriault. The week is scheduled each year around Valentine’s Day. IWCA hopes that this week will be celebrated in many writing centers around the world each year.
