PLEASE NOTE: The 2020 Summer Institute has been postponed due to COVID-19. More details soon.
Join us for the Summer Institute: June 14-19, 2020
LEADERSHIP TRACK: The Summer Institute (SI) leadership track is open to both new and experienced writing center administrators, scholars, and practitioners from universities and colleges, K-12 education, or independent writing centers. Since 2003, the SI has allowed writing center professionals to work with leaders from the field in whole-group workshops, small-group discussions, and one-on-one conversations.
WRITING TRACK: The Summer Institute (SI) writing track, hosted by Jackie Grutsch McKinney (email@example.com) and John Nordlof (firstname.lastname@example.org), will be limited to 20 participants who want a week to concentrate on a writing project. It will function like a writing retreat–some goal-setting and shared meals, LOTS of individual writing time, and some optional consultations and social outings.
Location: SI will be held at the Lodge at Santa Fe. The group rate ($115/night) will be honored through May 23rd, 2020. Please call 505-992-5858 to make a reservation and be sure to mention that you’re with the IWCA Summer Institute.
Registration: To register, log in to the IWCAmembers.org portal, or if you have never created an account, create a new account and then register. Registration is $900 for the leadership track and $300 for the writing track. The deadline to register is April 1st, 2020.
Grants: The Summer Institute has a limited number of grants (up to ½ the registration cost) available to help support attendees. The brief application is available in the “Members” portal of the IWCA website. Look for “IWCA Summer Institute 2020 Leadership Track Grant Application.” Please apply by April 1st, 2020 to be considered.
